Pastor Albert J. Smith Jr.
Whom we affectionately call "Pastor Al" or is the lead pastor here at Experiencing God's Word Center of Hope. God choose him to carry on the vision EGW in February, 2017. Under the tutelage of Dr. Virginia Smith Ward his mother Pastor Al conducted a series of lessons entitled "Black History as Told By the Prophets". Later that year the mantel was passed and in July of 2017 Pastor Al became the lead pastor at EGW. The Word of God did not just come by chance for Pastor Al. He is the son of the late great Apostle Albert J. Smith Sr. pastor of Pentecostal Deliverance Inner-Healing Ministries. While being the eldest son of this union with Dr. Virginia Smith, Pastor Al (Jr.) became versed in reading the scriptures and surprisingly enough that same anointing that was on his father fell on him. Pastor Al served as the Minister of Music and or Musical Director of several ministries such as Redeeming Grace Church (Schertz, TX), Miracle Temple (Gautier, Ms.) New Covenant Church (San Antonio, TX.) and Greater Pentecostal Temple (Kansas City, KS.) just to name a few. Needless to say that a worshippers heart resides with our pastor. Pastor Al went to Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS. then received his undergrad from The University of Missouri over Kansas City and his Masters from The University of Phoenix. Pastor Al also served proudly in the United States Navy and was apart of a special operations unit called SAR (search and rescue) he was honorably discharged with the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
He is a delegant husband to our First-Lady Latashia L. Smith and they are the proud parents of Santazia, Albert III, Aaron, Andre, LeJayden, and Royal.
First-Lady LaTashia L. Smith
Affectingly known as "Lady T." is our first-lady and wife of our beloved Pastor Al. She is the help meet in the vision of EGW. Along with her husband, Pastor Al. Lady T leads out relentlessly her ministry of reaching out to broken families and empowering women to live virtuous and productive lives as a motivational speaker. She is not only a caring wife to Pastor Al, but they are both the proud parents of Santazia, Albert III, Aaron, Andre, LeJayden, and Royal together they form a blended family proving that God, love and character are the main ingredients in family. In conjunction with Pastor Al, she is bringing forth the vision of EGW through Open Door Women’s Ministry, Youth Ministry (Live Wire), and Volunteerism. Her door ever opened for ministering to families through the Word, song, leadership and exemplifying their valuable effects. First Lady served as a Youth Instructor at New Dimensions Christian Center NDCC in Kansas City, Kansas under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Clark (Pastor) as well as, an Ambassador at Canaan Worship Center in Kansas City, Missouri under the leadership of Bishop Tony Cobbins (Pastor). First Lady graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas. She went on to obtain an Associate of Science (AS) from Donnelly College in Business Administration & Management under studies in Early Childhood Development and Education. In 2015, she graduated from Baker University (SPSC Advance Studies) obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM) with an emphasis in Human Resource Management Degree, Lady T also volunteered at: The Willa Gill Center (Food Kitchen), Harvester of KC, Mentoring youth at Quindaro Elementary School and El Centro. First Lady has always had a servant’s heart for serving others.
